Christmas is over. It's officially time to start your experience with the group as we fly on December 26th from Washington DC straight to Accra! No layovers in far flung cities and no hassle getting to our final destination. As a group, we'll navigate our way through Kotoka International Airport and meet our local guides who will be eagerly awaiting our arrival.
Time waits for no man! So, we'll start the trip immediately with a half-day tour of Accra. Aftewards, you'll check-in to your upscale, oceanfront hotel accommodations and then end the day with our Akwaaba (Welcome) Dinner at a nearby restaurant. We'll welcome you as only the Oheneba Events & Travel team can and prepare you for a life-changing week ahead!
While in Accra you will have the option to visit some of the city's most iconic sites such as Independence Square, historic Jamestown, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and W.E.B. DuBois and Pan African Center.
AfroFuture (formally Afrochella) festival is slated to come back in grand style. You will have the option to attend one or both days of the event. You may also choose to enjoy AfroNation festival or take time for your leisure.
We will make our way to Cape Coast and Elmina to visit the infamous slave dungeons and retrace the steps of our ancestors. You'll also never forget the opportunity you had to participate in a traditional Naming Ceremony. Our next day will take us to Kakum National Park where we will climb to the canopies high in the treetops for an aerial view of the lush landscapes. Our time concludes in Cape Coast with some community engagement and cooking lessons.
Remember...we came to PARTY! And there will be no shortage of opportunities to stay up late and enjoy Accra's famed nightlife. To ring in the New Year we'll start with our private dining NYE experience. The whole city will be jumping and we'll make sure you're in the VIP line at one of the most sought-after events of the night.
The first day of the New Year will start with rest and rejuvenation (you'll need it). Our time ends with a farewell event that's sure to leave a lasting impression on you as you prepare to return home to tell friends and family all about it.
After all the fun has been had, the whirlwind week is over. You'll be exhausted but sure to be floating on cloud 9 after the experience of a lifetime! Departure on January 2nd, arrival back in the US will be the morning of January 3rd.

Payments:
Guests will book with a low non-refundable deposit and then make subsequent installment payments until the trip is paid in full. You may also choose to pay in full at the time of booking. Timely installment payments are expected. Two or more late payments will make your booking subject to automatic cancellation without refund. Please notify us of any late payments within 5 days of due date. Consider setting up and Auto-Payment each month to ensure you never miss a payment.
We accept all major credit cards and bank transfers for payment.

Unless you book the Flight + Land Package, Flights to Ghana are not included. All travelers who book the Land Only Package are responsible for booking their own flights. Flights must be booked by October 15, 2022. Arrival on December 27th should be by 10am to ensure you're included in our full itinerary.

COVID-related travel protocols will follow CDC recommendations AND Ghana entry requirements at the time of travel.

Travelers will receive their final travel documents approximately 15 days prior to departure.

A valid passport with 6 months validity from the departure date and at least one blank page is required for travel.

A visa is required for entry into Ghana. Visas must be obtained PRIOR to travel and are approximately $60 USD. We recommend the Washington DC Ghana Consulate.

A Yellow Fever vaccine is required to enter Ghana. Visit your local travel clinic for more information.

Refunds will not be provided for cancellations due to passport, visa or required vaccine issues.

Cancellation policy:
We realize that plans can change so we've established these flexible cancellation policies as follows:
Cancellations between 2/9/2023 - 6/30/2023: $250 cancellation penalty applies. Refund of any remaining balance will be issued back to original form of payment within 30 days of cancellation notice.
Cancellations between 7/1/2023 - 10/14/2023: $750 cancellation penalty applies. Refund of any remaining balance will be issued back to original form of payment within 30 days of cancellation notice.
Cancellations between 10/15/2023 - 11/15/2023: Traveler may transfer booking to another passenger OR receive a 50% refund in the form of a Future Travel Credit (to be applied to a future Oheneba Events & Travel Group Getaway. Book by 12/1/23 - Travel by 12/31/24)
NO CANCELLATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11/15/2023.
BOOKINGS BECOME NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Oheneba Events & Travel is not responsible for penalties or fees associated with cancelled bookings for any reason, including COVID related matters. We strongly encourage our travelers to buy Travel Insurance to protect your travel investment. We are happy to provide travel insurance quotes.
If Oheneba Events & Travel is compelled to cancel this trip for any reason, all booked travelers will receive a full refund in the form of Future Travel Credit for another Group Getaway.
