This year we Party with a Purpose as a portion of the proceeds from this trip will go towards support for our nonprofit organization partner, Susana Lankai Debrah Educational Foundation. SLDEF "was founded with the vision of equipping primary and middle schools in Osu, Accra with the materials and resources necessary to facilitate a world class 21st Century learning environment."

Start your experience with the group as we fly from Washington DC straight to Accra! No layovers in far flung cities and no hassle getting to our final destination. As a group, we'll navigate our way through Kotoka International Airport and meet our local guides who will be eagerly awaiting our arrival.
After arrival you'll check-in to your upscale, oceanfront hotel accommodations and then we'll start the experience with our Akwaaba (Welcome) Dinner at a nearby restaurant. We'll welcome you as only the Oheneba Events & Travel team can and prepare you for a life-changing week ahead!
While in Accra you will have the option to visit some of the city's most iconic sites such as Independence Square, historic Jamestown, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and W.E.B. DuBois and Pan African Center during a city tour (which is perfect for first-timers) OR take a Shopping Tour around the town to get your outfits and souvenirs to take home to family and friends.
We hope you're ready to MOVE your body this trip and explore some of Ghana's ecological sites. We've lined up some early morning fitness classes, Afrobeats Dance and drum lessons, and excursions to Aburi Botanical Gardens and Shai Hills Reserve to see some of Ghana's indigenous wildlife.
We believe in choices so you can decide where your tour takes you next. Will it be a day trip to Kumasi-the center of Ghanaian heritage and traditions OR a day trip to Cape Coast and Elmina-the bridge that connects Africans in the Diaspora, OR a trip to Boti Falls to see nature at it's best? Whichever you choose, rest assured these experiences will be one of the highlights of your time with us.
Remember...we came to PARTY! And there will be no shortage of opportunities to stay up late and enjoy Accra's famed nightlife. You can't miss our Local Mixology Class that will teach you how to use some of Ghana's local spirits to make the most amazing concoctions. To ring in the New Year we'll start with our private dining NYE experience. The whole city will be jumping and we'll make sure you're in the VIP line at one of the most sought-after events of the night.
The first day of the New Year will start with rest and rejuvenation (you'll need it), then we'll make our way to an African oasis for a couple days away from the hustle of Accra. You can drink a cocktail poolside or enjoy several of the activities the resort offers both on and off property.
Together we'll cruise on the river and reminisce on the life-changing experience we have had together. Our time ends with a farewell event that's sure to leave a lasting impression on you as you prepare to return home to tell friends and family all about it.

Payments:
Guests will book with a low non-refundable deposit and then make subsequent installment payments until the trip is paid in full. You may also choose to pay in full at the time of booking. Timely installment payments are expected. Two or more late payments will make your booking subject to automatic cancellation without refund. Please notify us of any late payments within 5 days of due date.
We accept all major credit cards, Zelle, cashiers checks and/or money orders. Opt to pay by Zelle, money order or cashiers check to avoid credit card convenience fees. Deposit must be paid via credit/debit card or bank transfer. Subsequent payments can be made by money order or cashiers check.

Unless you book the Flight + Land Package, Flights to Ghana are not included. All travelers who book the Land Only Package are responsible for booking their own flights. Flights must be booked by October 23, 2022. Arrival on December 27th should be by 4pm to ensure you're included in our welcome events.

COVID-related travel protocols will follow CDC recommendations AND Ghana entry requirements at the time of travel. *Currently, Ghana requires that all foreign travelers are fully vaccinated.

Travelers will receive their final travel documents approximately 15 days prior to departure.

A valid passport with 6 months validity from the departure date and at least one blank page is required for travel.

A visa is required for entry into Ghana. Visas must be obtained PRIOR to travel and are approximately $60 USD. We recommend the Washington DC Ghana Consulate.

A Yellow Fever vaccine is required to enter Ghana. Visit your local travel clinic for more information.

Cancellation policy:
We realize that plans can change so we've established these flexible cancellation policies as follows:
Cancellations between 3/18/22 - 4/17/22: $200 cancellation penalty applies. Refund of any remaining balance will be issued back to original form of payment within 30 days of cancellation notice.
Cancellations between 4/18/22 - 7/31/22: $500 cancellation penalty applies. Refund of any remaining balance will be issued back to original form of payment within 30 days of cancellation notice.
Cancellations between 8/1/22 - 12/1/22: Traveler may transfer booking to another passenger OR receive a 50% refund in the form of a Future Travel Credit (to be applied to a future Oheneba Events & Travel Group Getaway. Book by 12/1/22 - Travel by 12/31/23)
NO CANCELLATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 12/1/22. BOOKINGS BECOME NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Oheneba Events & Travel is not responsible for penalties or fees associated with cancelled bookings for any reason, including COVID related matters. We strongly encourage our travelers to buy Travel Insurance to protect your travel investment. We are happy to provide travel insurance quotes.
If Oheneba Events & Travel is compelled to cancel this trip for any reason, all booked travelers will receive a full refund (minus donation to SLDEF) in the form of Future Travel Credit for another Group Getaway.
