The Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya is the place to be in July as millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle are migrating through the plains from the Serengeti in search of greener pastures. You will have a close up opportunity to see some of nature's most spectacular scenes when you join us in Kenya in 2023! If you have been on safari anywhere else before, you will wonder if you really saw anything in comparison to this!
While we love to see the wildlife that roams free here, that's not our only focus when we explore a new African destination. The beauty of its people is what will keep Africa in your heart and on your mind for a lifetime. We will visit a local Maasai tribe and learn about their unique culture and everyday lives.
After a few days in Nairobi and on safari in the Mara and Lake Nakuru National Park you'll have the option to return home or skip work and real life for a few more days as we jet-set away to Zanzibar island for rest and rejuvenation on the exotic beaches that can only be described as "Heaven on Earth." You will have the option to tour Stone Town and learn about the spice trade that Zanzibar was made infamous for centuries ago.

This trip begins in the capital city of Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival you will be welcomed with warm Kenyan hospitality and taken to check in our beautiful 4* accommodations in the city. After some rest and rejuvenation, we'll welcome you like only we can at Oheneba Events & Travel with our traditional Welcome Dinner.
On our first full day, we'll visit two of Nairobi's main attractions: David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary and the Giraffe Centre to get up close and personal with the endangered Rothschild giraffes. The next day, we'll learn more about the various tribes with a visit to the Bomas of Kenya where we'll be able to visit homesteads and partake in singing and dance performances. Later in the day we'll visit Kazuri Beads and do some shopping to support local artisans at the Maasai Market.
Day four and five will take us on our first safari experience in Maasai Mara National Park. Our luxury tented accommodations will ensure your comfort and are sure to have you wanting to stay a little while longer. Did someone say butler service...in the bush?! Yes! We'll be able to enjoy daily game drives for our best chance to see the migrating wildlife and the famous Big 5. We will also visit a local Maasai Cultural village to enjoy their ancient culture, traditions and way of life, that has been preserved for generations.
Day six and seven will take us away from the Mara and into Lake Nakuru National Park, the first Rhino sanctuary in Kenya, and ideal place to spot these endangered species. Here you are sure to enjoy our chalet style lodging with panoramic views of Lake Nakuru. While on our game drives here we will search for black and white rhinos, lions, giraffes, buffalo's, zebras, and baboon, among others.
After seven days of taking in much of what Kenya has on offer during this Great Migration season, our time here comes to an end on day eight with our traditional Farewell Dinner. You can decide to travel back home today or extend your experience with us as we travel to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival in Zanzibar, we will be taken to our hotel along the pristine white sandy beaches of Nungwi, Zanzibar. While here you can choose to spend the rest of the days at leisure to enjoy both sun, sea and the food. Or you can opt for some of the local tours including the Spice Island & Stone Town Tour, a world heritage site with rich culture. You can also enjoy a Dolphin Boat Tour where you can swim and snorkel with the dolphins and variety of tropical fish. Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong with a few days in this island paradise!

Payments:
Guests will book with a low deposit and then make subsequent installment payments until the trip is paid in full. You may also choose to pay in full at the time of booking. Timely installment payments are required. Two or more late payments will make your booking subject to automatic cancellation without refund. Consider enabling Auto-Pay so that you'll never miss a payment!
We accept all major credit cards, cashiers checks and/or money orders. Deposit must be paid via credit/debit card or bank transfer. Subsequent payments can be made by money order or cashiers check.
Important Travel Information:

Flights to/from Kenya/Zanzibar are not included. All travelers are responsible for booking their own international flights. We can assist with this, just let us know. Flights must be booked by May 10, 2023. Arrival on July 9th should be by 3pm to ensure you're included in our welcome events. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) is the arrival airport. You will depart from NBO on July 16th no earlier than 5pm if you choose NOT to do the Zanzibar Extension.

We realize that plans can change so we've established these flexible cancellation policies as follows:
Cancellations between 10/30/2022 - 3/10/2023: $250 cancellation penalty applies. Refund of any remaining balance will be issued back to original form of payment within 30 days of cancellation notice.
Cancellations between 3/11/2023 - 5/11/2023: Traveler may transfer booking to another passenger OR receive a 50% refund in the form of a Future Travel Credit (to be applied to a future Oheneba Events & Travel Group Getaway. Book by 12/1/23 - Travel by 12/31/24)
NO CANCELLATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR AFTER 5/10/23. BOOKINGS BECOME NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
